"The demand this holiday season confirmed that consumers are more comfortable with GPS technology and have made the devices a "must-have" accessory for their digital lifestyle," said Kiyoshi Hamai, North American sales director, Mio Technology Ltd. "The updates to the Mio DigiWalker C310x are examples of the company's commitment to continually improve the user experience and ensure customers get where they are going - whether across town or across the country."
At Staples, a top holiday shopping destination this season, the C310x was the number one selling GPS device.
"The Mio DigiWalker C310x was extremely popular with our customers this holiday season," said James Emond, buyer, Staples. "It is an easy-to-use product at a great price point for both personal use and for mobile professionals on the go."
More than just mapsThe Mio DigiWalker C310x comes pre-loaded with U.S. maps (50 states plus Guam and Puerto Rico), 1 GB of internal memory and more than 3.5 million points-of-interest in one pocket-sized package. Users can customize their device with their favorite locations by simply adding the address into the database. The C310x also doubles as a digital entertainment device - with a built-in MP3 player to provide entertainment while on the road. Digital music and audio files are easily added through any PC.
Four wheels, two wheels, no wheelsNavigating on foot or bicycle often means taking an alternate route than when traveling by car. The C310x offers a pedestrian mode that provides users with the shortest route to their destination. Maps are displayed on the 3.5" TFT touch screen-LCD and in 2D or 3D with clear, turn-by-turn voice instructions given in 16 different languages including English, Spanish and French. If the user gets off course and is not able to follow the directions, the device automatically recalculates the route and delivers new directions in real-time.
Weighing just six ounces, the device has a compact size - 4" long, 3" wide and 0.7" thick - allowing it to easily fit into the user's pocket. A car mounting kit, universal car charger and USB cable are included with the device.
