Today, at the annual CeBIT technology trade show, Mio Technology Corporation, a leading global supplier of personal GPS navigation devices, will launch its latest portable GPS product range and an innovative new content and services package called MioMoreTM. The new ‘Moov’ range is the first product launch since the merger of Mio and Navman, and includes five products built on Mio’s proven GPS technology and powered by Navman’s intuitive routing software.

The Moov range will be the first GPS devices in Europe to include a dynamic local search feature for finding points of interest such as shops, restaurants, businesses and amenities. The Local Search technology is powered via leading online local directory search partners across Europe and enables the devices to search the most comprehensive databases available for specific local amenities via a Bluetooth connection to a mobile phone. Users can also search for points of interest on the web before their journey via the accompanying MioMoreTM desktop software, and download to the device before setting off.

The Moov range is also the first to feature SiRF’s new ‘InstantFixII’ technology onboard, which predicts where GPS satellites will be on start up so a fix can be achieved in as little as five seconds, meaning users can begin navigating as soon as they’re ready to drive.

In addition to the new features, the Moov range brings together the best innovations from the current Mio and Navman ranges, including Mio 3D mapping of over 1,000 City landmarks, NavPix photo navigation plus Navman’s intuitive address entry and routing interface. NavPix photo navigation allows users to navigate to geo-tagged photos, which include hidden GPS coordinates, so the user can navigate straight to the point where the image was originally taken. The MioMore desktop software also gives access to over a million geo-tagged photos of buildings and places, via Flickr(TM) and the NavPix website to download for free.

All five products feature the latest Tele Atlas maps (2007.10) and a new, slim and lightweight design.
