Mio Technology Corporation Signs On to be the Only Global Positioning Equipment

Exclusive Senior Sponsor of the World Expo 2010

Mio will promote the “Better City, Better Life” together with the World Expo Bureau

Mio Technology Corporation signs on today as the exclusive global positioning system (GPS) senior sponsor of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China. This makes Mio the first Taiwanese enterprise to sign on as a senior sponsor of the World Expo Shanghai 2010. In addition, Mio also becomes the first GPS device brand of a senior sponsor in some 150-year history of the World Expo. Mio Technology Corporation will cooperate closely with the Shanghai World Expo Bureau in the next couple of years, to offer series Mio positioning products, and promote the theme “Better City, Better Life” together.

The signing ceremony between Mio and the World Expo Bureau is to be held on July 2, 16:30, at the VIP room of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. Matthew F. C. Miau, Chairman of the MiTAC-SYNNEX Group, Samuel Wang, Senior General Manager of the Mobile Communication Product Business Unit at MiTAC-SYNNEX Group, Li Jing-Ping, Vice President of Mio China, and Francis Tsai, Present of the MiTAC Technology Corporation will be present at the ceremony and sign the World Expo Shanghai 2010 GPS Device Senior Sponsor Cooperation Agreement World Expo Shanghai China 2010. In addition, Yang Xiong, Executive Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of Shanghai Expo and Shanghai Vice Mayor, Hong Hao, Director of the World Expo Bureau and Vice Principal Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Government, and Huang Jian-Zhi, Chen Xian-Jin, Wu Yun-Fei, Deputy Directors of the World Expo Bureau will also be present at the signing ceremony.

World Expo 2010 takes “City” as the main theme of the event, and hopes to construct better city life with innovative technologies and humanistic spirit. Mio intends that Mio will integrate its outstanding positioning technologies and services with the theme and goals of the World Expo Shanghai 2010, to offer multi-language positioning and tour features, including a site map of the World Expo, real time traffic information, an introduction to tours and sightseeing, and an introduction to shopping in Shanghai, as well as cuisine information services (Note 1). Mio also plans to achieve a travel guidance effect with its precise positioning feature, and enable 70 million visitors to explore the World Expo thoroughly.

Mio foresees the trend to future economic exchange on both sides of the Strait, and will sign the contract before the start of direct flights this weekend. MiTAC wishes to achieve the “one good turn deserves another” effect by being the first Taiwanese company to sign the senior sponsor contract of ‘World Expo Shanghai’ on one hand, and presents the determination of its Mio brand in developing the China market on the other. MiTAC hopes Mio brand’s spirit of fun exploration can be promoted by the World EXPO event.
