  • Mio GPS Enters Indonesian Market

World leading producer of Global Positioning System (GPS), Mio Technology, unveils its full product line-up for the Indonesia market and its strategy for 2008. The launching of Mio’s GPS product line-up and press conference were held in Jakarta on Thursday (Jan 31) attended by Sales Manager of Mio Technology Corporation Sonia Chan, General Manager of Tele Atlas in Indonesia Yo Yoe, and Director of PT Kahar Duta Sarana (KDS) Kemal Toha , the conference is moderated by Wimar Witoelar.

Mio Technology is one of the top three mobile GPS device makers in the world, according to Canalys, a high-tech industrial research institution. Mio is not only a leader in the Asia Pacific region, but is also among the top 3 GPS brands in the rapidly expanding U.S market. And world leading map maker, Tele Atlas, is a supplier of Mio’s mapping data, including maps of cities and regions in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, while KDS is GPS Mio’s authorized distributor in Indonesia.

According to KDS Director Kemal Toha, in the early stages KDS and Mio Technology will directly market six GPS Mio products, including A501, A702 GPS PDA phone, and car navigation series- C230, C320, and PDA navigation P360, and P560.

The six are leading products of Mio Technology, each with a sophisticated mutually integrated technology and innovative design in their class. C320, for instance, has a touchscreen and audio device (audio player function), for easy use by their owners, especially with a highly accurate Tele Atlas mapping data makes GPS Mio a reliable guide for people when driving a car on the roads in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta with its very dense and complicated traffic.

The superiority of GPS Mio products is internationally recognized which is apparent in the many tokens of awards they have received, including the 2008 iF Design Award. The iF Design Award is a token of excellence sponsored by the design industrial forum in Hannover, Germany. This award is valued as one of the most significant design competitions in the world. Mio GPS devices have also received the “Editor’s Choice” award from Digital World of France, as well as the Computex Best Choice Award, and Taiwan’s Superior Brand Award.
