To provide users the smoothest possible navigation experience, the Moov 380 is also equipped with the latest positioning technology from SiRF, SiRFInstantFixII™. SiRFInstantFixII is an autonomous version of SiRF’s original SiRFInstantFix technology that significantly improves the start-up times of GPS devices and allows enhanced GPS signal reception in urban canyons. SiRFInstantFixII™ technology requires no external connection to a PC.

Samuel Wang, Senior VP and General President of Mobile Communication Business Units of Mitac International Corp. states that ” By launching the new connected car navigation system- Mio Moov 380, Mio is providing a new GPS experience with more valuable and useful information through the built-in GPRS connectivity. This product also indicates a new business partnership between Mio and telecom operators to encourage more users to experience connected information through their PND’s.” The company is working with Qualcomm to develop the connected device with 2.75G and 3G capability which is expected to launch at the end of 2008 .
